WMRN Career
S. Robert Morrison was a pivotal technical and management employee of WMRN in its early years. A contemporary May 1943 Broadcast Engineers' Journal report identifies him as WMRN's chief engineer and documents the station's short-notice, live remote broadcasts, including wartime civic-service demonstrations. A March 1945 Broadcasting report records that Morrison had entered U.S. Navy service, with Francis J. Peters succeeding him as chief engineer. A November 1945 personnel notice reports Morrison's return as assistant general manager while Peters remained chief engineer. He appears as assistant general manager in the station's 1947 Broadcasting-Telecasting Yearbook advertisement. The specific date of his first WMRN appointment is unverified.
