WMRN Career
Ed Paulin, also documented as Philip or Phillip 'Ed' Paulin in biographical sources, broadcast high-school basketball and Marion Barons hockey for WMRN during the late 1950s and early 1960s. A firsthand historical account preserves excerpts of Paulin's actual December 29, 1961 WMRN-AM basketball play-by-play from Marion's Veterans Memorial Coliseum and recalls his work with fellow announcer Bob Miller and a remote engineer identified as Joe Peters. His obituary records recognition as Ohio's Top Sports Broadcaster in 1960 and later work in broadcasting education at Oklahoma State University. Paulin left full-time play-by-play work by 1966. His complete WMRN employment dates remain unverified.
