### **Description**

Printed program schedule issued by the Marion Broadcasting Co. for WMRN in Marion,
Ohio, effective October 1973. The folded paper schedule provides separate Monday-
through-Friday, Saturday, and Sunday listings for WMRN programming. The schedule
documents a wide range of local and network programming, including news, weather,
sports, agricultural reports, religious programming, music, community-service programs,
seasonal sports broadcasts, and locally produced programs. Named WMRN personalities
appearing in the schedule include Chuck Evers, Ken Charles, Madge Cooper, Marj Williams,
Al Vent, and Steve Stewart. The front cover identifies WMRN as “1490 On Your AM
Dial” and promotes WMRN-FM at 106.9 MHz with the slogan “The Most Beautiful Sound
Around.” The surviving copy contains extensive handwritten annotations, schedule
revisions, strike-throughs, time changes, initials, and other working notes. A handwritten
notation on the cover reads “1973 & 1974,” suggesting that the schedule remained
in active use or was updated after its original October 1973 effective date. The
object exhibits substantial evidence of handling and use, including discoloration,
staining, creasing, edge wear, tears, losses, and significant deterioration along
the central fold. The handwritten annotations are retained as part of the historical
record of the object.
