Mounted WMRN Promotional Photograph Featuring Broadcast Tower, Microphone and Transmitting
Equipment

### Description

  This original mounted black-and-white photographic composition depicts WMRN in
Marion, Ohio. The image combines a dramatic upward view of the station’s broadcast
tower with a WMRN-branded microphone and transmitting equipment arranged near the
bottom of the composition. The photographic print is mounted on a decorative marbled
presentation board and appears to have been produced as a promotional or presentation
piece rather than as a conventional documentary photograph. A photographer or studio
credit at the lower-right edge of the image appears to read “Hughes Photo – Marion,
O.” The exact date of creation has not yet been established. The object is being
preserved as a complete mounted artifact rather than separating the photographic
print from its original presentation mount. The mount exhibits significant age-related
deterioration, including discoloration, staining, tide marks or moisture-related
staining, edge wear, surface wear, creasing, and deterioration along portions of
the perimeter. These characteristics are retained as part of the historical object.
Further research may help identify the photographer or photographic studio, establish
a more precise creation date, and identify the transmitting equipment pictured in
the composition.
