Hot Country 107 Promotional Sweater (WMRN-2026-046) is a Promotional Apparel
associated with WMRN-AM / WMRN-FM, preserved within the WMRN Promotional Apparel
Collection. Dated c.1990s, the item contributes to the documentary record of WMRN
broadcasting history. This sweater represents WMRN-FM’s “Hot Country 107” branding
era, one of several major format and branding identities associated with the station’s
FM operations during the late twentieth century. Promotional apparel such as this
served as a visible extension of station branding during remote broadcasts, community
appearances, concerts, fairs, and promotional events throughout Marion and surrounding
Central Ohio communities. As part of the archive’s expanding promotional apparel
collection, the artifact documents how local radio stations visually marketed themselves
beyond the airwaves during the 1990s era of regional country music broadcasting.
The preservation of station apparel provides valuable insight into the public-facing
identity and branding strategies of local radio broadcasting during a period when
promotional visibility played a major role in audience engagement and station recognition.
