Description

Interior view of the WMRN-AM on-air studio, likely photographed in the mid-to-late
1990s. The image captures the station’s primary broadcast console, microphone boom
arms, and surrounding rack-mounted audio equipment during a transitional period
in radio operations.

Notably, the studio does not include traditional cart machines, indicating a shift
away from analog cartridge-based playback systems. Instead, computer monitors and
a visible automation interface suggest early adoption of digital or computer-assisted
broadcasting workflows.

Additional details include acoustic wall treatment, an analog clock mounted above
the studio window, and a secondary control room visible through the glass. The overall
configuration reflects a hybrid analog-digital environment typical of small-market
radio stations in the late 20th century.

This photograph provides a documented view of WMRN’s technical evolution, capturing
the station during a period of modernization as broadcast operations moved toward
digital systems.
