### Title

“Marching Through Marion” — Charlie Evers Leads Community Walking Tour (March 18,
1995)

### Description

_Charlie Evers leads a Central Ohio Hiking Club group through Marion during a historical
walking tour on March 18, 1995._

This newspaper photograph, published March 18, 1995, shows Charlie Evers leading
a group from the Central Ohio Hiking Club through Marion, Ohio.

Serving as both historian and guide, Evers led participants to several of the city’s
most notable landmarks, including the Harding Memorial, Marion Cemetery, Heritage
Hall, and the Harding Home. His role in the event reflects a deep commitment to
preserving and sharing local history beyond his work in broadcasting.

While best known as a voice on WMRN-AM 1490, Evers was also actively involved in
community education and civic engagement. Events like this highlight his broader
impact in Marion, where storytelling extended from the airwaves into the streets
of the city itself.

This photograph is preserved as part of the WMRN Radio History Archive.
