Description

WHEREAS, Groundhog Day is a cherished tradition celebrated across the United States, and in Ohio, this day holds special significance thanks to our very own weather prognosticator, Buckeye Chuck; and
WHEREAS, Buckeye Chuck has proudly served as Ohio's official groundhog since being designated by the Ohio General Assembly in 1979, bringing joy and anticipation to countless Ohioans each February 2nd; and
WHEREAS, for 47 consecutive years, Buckeye Chuck has delivered his annual weather forecast at the Marion County Fairgrounds, becoming a beloved symbol of community spirit and Ohio pride; and
WHEREAS, this tradition not only honors folklore but also strengthens the bonds of fellowship among Ohioans who gather to celebrate the season and share in the excitement of Buckeye Chuck's prediction; Therefore
I RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE Buckeye Chuck for his continued dedication and service to the community.
